Mission Statement

ARTSF: Academic-artists Reaching Towards Success Foundation is dedicated to providing a holistic approach to academic-artists (youth-led) programs. Our mission is to encourage academic-artists to express themselves positively and gain sustainable skills that aid in academic, community, and life success—cultivating a safe environment for academic artists to express their artistic abilities while providing mentors and internships to create individualized portfolios.

We aim to remove the barriers that create "starving artist" as a reality and instead support the development of youth who experience themselves to be professionals who are "thriving artists". 

As we support youth in their career development and discovery of themselves as creatives, we are creating structures for them to have opportunities to showcase their art, craft and overall be fully self-expressed. Looking at the trajectory of their careers, we are creating Artists in Residency Certifications, partnering with higher education institutions that specialize in arts & culture like Berklee and enrolling them into the profession of their choice with internships at organizations like Universal Music Group.

In our collaborative, performance art center, our academic-artists are exposed to state of the art technologies, art education and support. The cross between the community pulling together to offer their services and our academic-artists engagement is what has morphed this organization into what more can we do to highlight our collective work.
